It revs!
After a looong hiatus trying to sort life out in general, it seems a good time to revive this gradual derailleur into delirium – or at least as good a time as any other.
There’s two things worthy of note in the coming week. Next Wednesday is the National Ride2Work Day, and I was pleasantly surprised to get a surprisingly informative information circular in the mail this week at work detailing the facilities available (which I must say is at least above-average), possible routes to work & most importantly, free brekkie for all involved. Should be interesting to see how far people cycle to work (as a fair number of people do judging by the bikes I see at the racks).
It is also the ACT election next Saturday and it seems that cycling, as an integral part of alternative transportation is an issue that seems to be the hip thing to be for amongst the pollies, as is anything remotely green these days, including scoffing at other’s attempt at trying to look green. Indeed a month before the campaign really got under way, I started to find heritage-listed potholes filled on the cycle path especially in the Belconnen area, though I am sure the timing is purely coincidental. Still, good news for those who do or are keen to start to cycle as a means of transportation.
